Flip Book

This was fun! The coloring took me FOREVER to do. My markers started dying so I had to run around asking people to borrow their markers! I wish I had gotten a bigger book so my tree could be bigger!

  1. Like I've said before, I really like "stick" style figures. So, I found your figure really interesting. Also, I'm not sure why, but I'm fascinated with your use of a clip to hold the non-essential pages together. It just seems perceptive to think of that. The storm with the grumpy face is expressive - priceless!

    Good Job.

I love that we had the same idea for the begining. I love your trees they're so colorful. You did a great job since working with sharpies can be challenging. I like the idea of your story and how the tree transitions.
    Great job girl.

  3. Very good use in the stick figure drawing along with the tree growth. When disaster befalls the tree, the story then shifts to the stick figures role. Great Shift.

I loved the concept of storms that seem to cause problems for the tree, also causes problems for the stick figure. Along with story viewpoints of the tree growing and the stick figures voyage.

Overall very good emotion within the storms complexion, and color scheme through the whole story.

    Great Work.

  4. Wow! You can definitely tell that you spent a lot of time on your drawings! I'm a big fan of all the color and the story line. Also, your transition from each scene to the next moved really well throughout the entire piece. I also liked how you moved from flipping vertically to horizontally with your flip book. Outstanding job!

  7. Thuy..... your book stank!!!! It reeked of the dam markers you used. Even with that I still love the story and your use of color! I loved the little tractor the guy was using, it was too cute. I was lucky enough to see your prelim drawings and see how you adapted and translated the story into your book over the 400 pages. The finished work was great and I loved every page! You can really tell how much time you put into every page.

  8. Aww your book was adorable. I loved the use of color, that probably took a very long time. Your story line was cute and clever. It really tells a lot that you went over 400 pages, you were definitely dedicated to the project. Haha and its funny Rob said it too about stick figures, but they really do rock. I feel like they make a big difference, and it your story would not have been the same if it was "real" people. FABULOUS job! Keep up the good work.
